Call it a falls start! Ha, get it? Football season? Fall?
On a real note, even though the Philly weather still feels like summer, the leaves are changing, the Eagles are playing, and the tours are rolling through the city.
Our favorite part of the new season is how many incredible tours hit Philly venues in September and October. Here’s what you don’t want to miss in the coming weeks:
- Tyler, The Creator, September 25
Haven’t watched his newest video for A BOY IS A GUN*? You should, because Twitter can’t stop talking about it (in a great way).
Tyler’s hitting the road this fall with Jaden Smith and Goldlink. Of course, tickets to this show at The Mann’s Skyline Stage are sold out, but you can still grab some through StubHub.
2. Philly Music Fest, September 25-28
It was an honor for MNYK Studios to sponsor the PHL Music Fest last year and we’re excited to check it out again. Just like previous years, the festival hits Milkboy 9/25, Johnny Brenda’s 9/26, and World Cafe Live 9/27-9/28. Grab your tickets!
This year’s lineup includes our new friends in Foxtrot & The Getdown (new music video shot at in visual studio here), Vacationer, Ceramic Animal, and more. Don’t miss out on celebrating local Philly music!
3. Catfish and the Bottlemen, September 28
If there’s one show you can make it to this fall, choose this one. We saw CATB a few months back at Radio 104.5’s Block Party and their energy has you watching the band’s live sets on YouTube for weeks later (trust us on this one).
The band released its latest record The Balance earlier this April with our personal standouts, “Fluctuate,” “Encore,” and “Coincide.” Catch them at The Met this Saturday. PSA: we’ll be there, so come say hello!
4. Martin Garrix, September 28
Though he hasn’t released an EP in a while, Martin had a few notable releases this year. First: “Summer Days” with Macklemore and Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. Second: “No Sleep” featuring Bonn. And the list goes on, as expected with this guy.
He’s hitting Wells Fargo Center this Saturday, so don’t miss the party of the weekend.
5. Twenty One Pilots, October 20
Thought we’d throw in a show you have time to prepare for—because you’ll need to for these guys.
Tyler and Josh released their newest record Trench almost a year ago in October. If you’re an avid Radio 104.5 listener, you’ve heard “Jumpsuit” and “Levitate” every time you drive to work.
TOP hit the road early October and roll through Philly 10/20 at Wells Fargo Center.
Hitting up any of these shows? Let us know how it went!
