3 Reasons Why You Should Start a Podcast
We know you’ve talked about it while at lunch with your buddy.
“Dude, we NEED to start a podcast. We’re hilarious.” Yeah, we’re calling you out, Chad.
We’ve mentioned our favorite podcasts before, but we’re hoping to add yours to the list. Here’s why you need to finally start it:
Podcasts can elevate your personal or professional brand
There’s a reason YouTubers like David Dobrik, Emma Chamberlain, and Jenna Marbles record podcasts. It’s the same reason companies like Slack, Nike, and Sephora do it too. 54% of podcast listeners are more likely to consider buying an advertised product.
That advertised product can be anything from video views to physical products to ebooks to anything you can imagine. Whether you have a personal or professional brand, publishing podcasts is a great way to reach a larger audience.
Podcasts are easy-to-create content
It really is as easy as hitting the “record” button on GarageBand, Pro Tools, Logic, or even your phone. Quality is key (we can help with that), but just getting started is easy.
Once you record an episode, you can publish to the platform of your choice: SoundCloud, Spotify, iTunes, and so on.
While blogs can take six hours to write and videos can take twenty hours to edit, a podcast can be a stream-of-consciousness piece of content you create and upload within thirty minutes. *Cue the Staples red button voice* that was easy!
You can earn a little side money
Should your podcast take off and gain even a small following, companies may reach out with potential sponsorships. They’ll pay you to shout out their brand or product.
On top of that, if you choose to stream your podcast on YouTube, you can earn revenue per view in addition to whatever ads you place during the video.
So, Chad, what do ya say? Time to record your first episode?
